Catalyst Medical Group will serve the Lewis-Clark Valley and the Palouse
The owners of Moscow Family Medicine, Lewiston Orthopaedics and Lewiston based Valley Medical Center have signed an agreement to bring the three health care organizations under one roof. The new company, called Catalyst Medical Group, is owned by 28 local physicians. When it officially begins operations later this year, CMG will consist of more than 68 physicians and mid-level providers including Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Assistants and Certified Nurse Midwives and will employ more than 260 staff, across 6 locations.
Leadership of Catalyst will be provided by a six person Board of Directors, comprised of two physicians from each new division. Day to day operations will be coordinated by the three existing CEO’s; Jeff Geier from Moscow Family Medicine, Cindy Keene from Lewiston Orthopaedics and David Schlactus from Valley Medical Center.
According to Dr. Tim Dykstra, newly elected Board President of Catalyst Medical Group, “the nation’s health care system is evolving so rapidly that health care providers must be more competitive and work collaboratively in order to ensure their long term viability and sustainability. Bringing together three outstanding organizations and our skilled and highly trained doctors and staff will make us stronger and better able to react and adapt to the constant changes that we’re seeing in our health care system. Catalyst Medical Group will also be able to provide more services in more locations to our patients now and in the future.”
Dr. Dykstra went on to say that the current employees of the three individual companies, which have facilities in Moscow, Lewiston and Clarkston, will be retained along with their existing salaries and “Our employees are clearly our greatest asset,” Dykstra stated. “Catalyst Medical Group also has plans to grow and expand which will benefit our employees and the communities we serve.”
Catalyst Medical Group unites three well established and highly respected locally owned health care organizations. Lewiston Orthopaedics specializes in bone, joint, and muscle injuries and conditions, and has served the Lewis-Clark Valley since 1972. Valley Medical Center, which opened in 1980, is a comprehensive health care facility offering services in 14 medical specialties with locations in Lewiston and Clarkston. Moscow Family Medicine is a physician owned primary and preventative care institution formed in 1983.
